10 Apr Get Inspired !

With over two decades of corporate career, moving from the junior most typist role to the powerful managerial role – the learning are tremendous and one can not avoid getting influenced or influence those working-with.

While, inspiration may or may not happen at the workplace, reason being – they are mostly subjective and related to a given environment. Same applies for inspiring others – those who are inspired by you at the workspace are those who like the way you work, the way you support, the way you encourage, the way you fight for them, the way you stand-by-them during crisis. In short, these are customer-relationships wherein two parties involved in a given transaction.

So, for me, the real inspiration comes from the personal life – especially from the childhood days. These personalities could be the real heroes – who have larger than life profile or those simple men or women who has larger play in your making.

Yes. For me – my inspiration is my two aunts, now aged 89 and 78 respectively and stay independent – till date. Former is a great Ajith fan (one of the successful tamil film actor) and prefer Hotel Saravana Bavan Sambhar rice at-least once a week !. While, the later prefer to make papad and pickle, even at this age – to ensure her international clients get their regular orders, timely !.

Have learnt the customer centricity, quality delivery, stakeholder management, crisis management and risk taking appetite from the younger (!) one. And people management, Creativity, Fun@work, Passion to Perform and enjoy yourself – attitude from the elder one. I have only phrased those statements due to my corporate learning – but they do it without knowing these jargons!. It is very hard Not to get inspired from these personalities in life – because they live on their values and expect none-in-return from the materialistic world. They do not teach or preach these values, but, if you are lucky to have time spent with them – you adapt those, naturally.

Some of the fundamental, which was inculcated as part of my upbringing and continue to don my values are:

– Be Honest + Transparent
– Be Courteous + Respectful
– Hard Work + Smart Working
– Never be alone + Stay with the crowd
– The more you give, the more you get – applicable for every thing in this world!

Today, as I step into a new chapter in my life journey, I sincerely thank my inspiration – for making my living – worthwhile.
